Addressing the Community: Public Speech

Do you want to persuade or inform a community? Then it’s time to learn the details of public speech! With a strong public speaker, you can share your ideas with the crowd. You can also persuade or inform them this way. With public speech, decisions can be influenced or changed. This type of speech requires strong communication skills. People who can achieve this can take themselves one step further than other people. It is possible to speak in four different types of public speaking. These types are known as demonstrative speech, informative speech, persuasive speech, and ceremonial speech. The titles given to these genres reveal the subject of that speech.

How to Make a Public Speech?

To be able to make a public speech, a community must be selected first. Knowing this target audience well is also important for creating a strong public speaker. Secondly, a topic should be chosen. All details of the subject should be mastered, but this should not prolong the speech. One small detail that can help is to write down the conversation. Thus, it is possible to complete the subject completely during the speech. The third stage is to support the subject to be explained with examples. Instead of explaining the subject in a long way, it can be ensured that the listener dominates the subject by giving examples.

Example of Public Speech

Hello everyone, my name is Alex Harbour. I am the president of the Humanity Association. First of all, thank you for inviting me to speak here today. The talk I will give here will be the current state of technological devices that replace human labor. How beautiful, isn’t it? Tiny machines do things that we did in the past for a lot of time, in a shorter time now. We also take care of our comfort, right? But this is the most visible part of our topic. If we dig a little deeper, we can begin to realize the seriousness of this issue.

Let’s go back a little bit together. How did this technology enter our lives? There is a period that we are all familiar with from history lessons at school, the Industrial Revolution. With the mechanization that started with this period, we have come to this day by progressing. Yes, we progressed, we developed. But have you ever thought, what did hundreds or even thousands of workers in factories do after mechanization? Of course, not all of them were left without work. But because most of them were doing the work that the machine did, they were left unemployed when the machine replaced them. The remaining employees were the people who controlled the machine. So, starting from here, with the advancement of technology, what are we in now? With the progress of a revolution that started like this in the very old years, it would of course mean the increase of mechanization. The thing I’m talking about is not that the technology is bad. Technology is replacing human labor too much. Many people can be unemployed for this reason.

So what should we do? First of all, we expect that employers do not ignore human labor in this regard. Secondly, what we need to do is to ensure that the next generation will have a command of technology. They should not be slaves to technology, they should make technology their slaves. In this way, the value of human labor does not decrease. How do we do that? Of course with education. By trying to give a good education to our children everywhere, both at school and in the family. Technology does not stop, friends. It continues continuously and quickly. We must fight so that human labor does not lose its value, and that technology does not replace our people. This is our world, the world of the people. We are the most valuable assets here. Together, we can achieve this in the long term as a whole. I believe and know that we can do this. You can feel it too, right? In the world of people, human labor will always remain strong. Thank you for listening to me, I wish everyone a good day.
